MBBS (COURSE CREDIT SYSTEM)
- Matriculation Requirements
Admission to pre-degree courses in Medicine at the University of Benin will be by Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) entrance examination, which will be open to:
(i) Candidates who have obtained credit in at least five subjects at GCE/SSCE/WASC/NECO or any recognized equivalent at not more than one sitting. The subjects obtained must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
B. Requirements for Direct Entry to Degree Courses
Candidates for direct entry to degree course in Medicine must satisfy the matriculation requirements as stated for candidates seeking admission to preliminary course and must additionally satisfy the School requirements as follows:
i. At least three ‘A’ LEVEL PASSES (not more than one C Grade
or minimum of 12 points) in Biology or Zoology, Physics, and Chemistry at NOT MORE THAN ONE SITTING.
ii. *JUPEB – A Triple A’’ (fifteen point) in the three (3) JUPEB course
iii. At least a second class upper division from a recognized University in any of the following:
- B.Sc. Biological Sciences
- B.Sc. Medical Sciences
*All ‘O’ Level credit passes must predate the matriculation for the first degree programme.
Candidates seeking direct entry admission must pass his/her O’Level at a single seating
